PEARLS & PULASKIS

INSPIRED BY FIRE, EXPRESSIONS FOR LIFE
ABOUT PEARLS & PULASKIS

Pearls & Pulaskis Mission: Encouraging individuality and personal joy through art that expresses the coexisting balance of beauty and strength-- Two important aspects of life I learned to fully appreciate in nature as a wildland firefighter.

Pearls & Pulaskis was just an idea during my first wildland fire season in 2011, while working on an engine on the Tonto National Forest, in Arizona. I used to joke about how I will always wear my earrings while on fires because "I can still feel beautiful while getting the job done on the fireline!" As my passion for firefighting grew, I learned to love every detail of the job, including our equipment and mechanics involved. The idea of making jewelry I could wear out of retired fire equipment was born, and I couldn't wait to wear pieces of the job as a badge of honor. I continued to dedicate my time and focus to building my firefighting skills on engines, hand crews, helicopters, emergency medical short-haul, and teaching fire classes, and Pearls and Pulaskis continued to be just a thought until 2018 when I finally decided to start a new adventure pursuing my art and design dreams. I went back to firefighting in 2019 because it is a hard profession to leave, but I have now jumped back into the creative art world full-time, keeping Pearls & Pulaskis alive!

Each purchase from the Fire [Inspired] Collection dontates 5% directly to the Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters, to assist firefighters and their families in the event of a Line of Duty Death or other Line of Duty trauma.

I hope you find your piece of personal expression here that serves as your daily reminder of beauty and strength in life, and most of all, joy.
